Mango Smoothie Recipe

You'll be surprised how great four ingredients blended with ice can taste.

Sweet, ripe mangos don't need a whole lot of help in the smoothie department.

Ours were blended with milk and yogurt for tang

Mango is rich in both vitamins A and C and filling fiber, so the benefits of drinking a whole one in your morning smoothie can't be overstated

The freshness is equally perfect for sipping along with spicy foods, as a snack on its own, or as an after-dinner dessert alternative.

1 cup chopped ripe mango ½ cup milk, dairy or unsweetened nondairy ½ cup ice ¼ cup plain yogurt 1 tablespoon honey, optional

Ingredients

Use one cup of frozen mango and omit the ice.

If you are using a regular blender—not a high-powered blender—you may want to let the mango defrost for about 10 minutes before blending.

Use any milk, dairy or unsweetened non-dairy, such as soy, almond, macadamia, or coconut.

Use frozen mango or a half banana that has been cut into chunks and placed in the freezer.

Combine in a blender mango, milk, ice, yogurt, and honey, if using.

Blend until smooth and frothy.
