the best homemade mulled wine you've ever had!

spices like cinnamon, cloves, and star anise, this warm and tasty mulled wine recipe is simple and cozy.

INGREDIENTS

– 1 tablespoon olive oil – 1 large onion, diced – 3 cloves garlic, minced – 1 pound ground turkey – 1 can (15 ounces) pumpkin puree – 1 can (15 ounces) diced tomatoe – 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, drained and rinsed – 1 can (15 ounces) kidney beans, drained and rinsed – 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth

– 1/2 teaspoon whole allspice berrie – 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg – 1 vanilla pod, split (optional) – 1 apple, sliced (optional) – Fresh cranberries for garnish (optional)

The red wine, brandy, honey or maple syrup, orange slices, cloves, cinnamon sticks, star anise, allspice berries, and ground nutmeg should all be combined in a large pot or Dutch oven.

The mixture should be heated to a simmer over medium heat. For at least 20 to 30 minutes, turn the heat down to low and let it simmer gently. To keep the alcohol from evaporating, don't let it boil.

If you would like, you can add more honey or maple syrup after tasting the mulled wine to adjust the sweetness.

After turning off the stove, remove the whole spices (cloves, star anise, allspice berries, vanilla pod, and cinnamon sticks).

Cool Completely: Let the chili cool completely before freezing.

Serve warm and enjoy the cozy, spiced flavors of Rebecca’s Mulled Wine.
